India Newsome, the owner and lead instructor of Work It Pilates, brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for health and wellness to the studio. Her journey into Pilates began as a personal quest for balance and strength, and she quickly discovered the transformative power of the practice.
India holds a comprehensive certification from Well Body Pilates, and has a wealth of knowledge from attending Classical Pilates workshops. She is committed to continually enhancing her expertise through ongoing education. Known for her warm and welcoming personality, she fosters an inclusive atmosphere in every class, empowering clients to feel comfortable and achieve their best.
Janelle Freeman
Janelle is a Pilates apprentice with three years of dedicated practice, driven by a passion for promoting health, fitness, and proper form. What started as a personal journey to improve her strength and flexibility quickly blossomed into a deep love for Pilates and its transformative benefits.
Now, as an instructor, Janelle is committed to helping others reach their fitness goals by fostering an encouraging, inclusive environment where every client can build confidence, strength, and body awareness. Her mission is to inspire others to embrace movement and lead a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.
Lauren Miller
Lauren is a trained, Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher with a comprehensive Balanced Body certification. She specializes in working with clients recovering from injury and managing chronic pain, using precise, intentional movement to restore strength, mobility, and confidence.
With a background in competitive gymnastics and springboard diving, Lauren was introduced to Pilates early as a form of cross-training. After later navigating her own health challenges, she reconnected with the method through physical therapy, gaining a deep appreciation for Pilates as a powerful tool for both healing and long-term resilience.
Her teaching style emphasizes intelligent, focused movement, guiding clients to reconnect with their bodies while building strength, efficiency, and confidence.
Rachel Miller
Rachel is a Nashville native who discovered Pilates during her undergraduate dance studies at MTSU. What began as cross-training to support her dance performance quickly grew into a deeper interest in movement and how the body works.
After college, while teaching ballroom dance, Rachel noticed many students struggled with strength, balance, and control. Remembering Pilates’ impact on her own training, she began incorporating it into her teaching and saw meaningful improvements not only in dance performance but in overall body awareness and function.
Rachel is a comprehensively certified Pilates instructor trained through Native Pilates in Donelson. Her teaching style is bright, encouraging, and focused on helping every body move with greater ease, strength, and purpose.
Shakia Clark
Shakia blends creativity, discipline, and a strong movement background in her teaching. With roots in dance and barre, she developed a deep appreciation for alignment, strength, and intentional movement.
She discovered Pilates three years ago and quickly connected with its ability to both challenge and restore. Inspired by the practice, Shakia pursued teaching with a focus on creating thoughtful, accessible sessions that help clients build strength, confidence, and body awareness.
Her approach is encouraging, grounded, and centered on supporting each client’s individual goals.
